Core Banking System Project 2006 ? Retail Banking

The Banker, the British banking magazine, has honored Kaupthing Bank with a prestigious technology award, for having implemented one of the most innovative Retail Banking IT-projects of the year 2006, with the help of AppliCon's consultants and banking team, based on SAP's Core Banking Platform.

Kaupthing Bank together with Applicon and SAP represented one of almost 350 teams striving for an award among the 35 different categories. Together they won the award of the category “Core Banking System Project 2006 – Retail Banking”.

Kaupthing Bank has been noted in The Banker for the level of growth it has consistently achieved year upon year. To support such growth it has used the SAP system to develop its core banking platform to assist with the process of standardization and synchronization across a range of services and activities, says Dan Barnes, Technology Editor, The Banker.

An award ceremony was held by The Banker on the 8th of June at the Sheraton Hotel in London where Asgrimur Skarphedinsson, CIO Kaupthing Group, and representatives from Applicon and SAP Sweden, accepted the Awards.
